Easter Mini's 2014

Our family raises little chickens for eggs and this year we welcomed 3 beautiful Rhode Island Reds to the household just in time for Easter pictures! We had a pretty successful turn out this year and are super thankful to our wonderful clients and friends who made this possible! The kids were EXCELLENT, the lighting was just perfect, and luckily we found an area that wasn't too heavily saturated with "fans" (mostly sweet elderly people on bird walks :] ) that stopped to "ooo" & "ahhh". Who can blame them? The kids and chicks were SUPER cute! We even had a visit from a client's bunny pet! They were quite the little hoppers, but still just super little.

A big shout out to Josh & Jennifer from 2Js Photography for lending equipment (that I must have now!), to my husband for keeping me going sanely and for helping me out as my awesome assistant, to the clients and adorable kids who made this whole thing possible, and to the hikers who never once stepped in front of the camera so I was able to get every cute shot!

(Ps. The brighter/lighter" chick is my fave. I named her Stretch, because she is CONSTANTLY stretching her legs and its super cute! She's the older of the 3 by a couple days.)

 

 

Meet my sweet daughter Tatum and little miss K. They met just a few days before and just became good friends instantly, so the reuniting at pictures was the cherry on top! I can see many future play dates with these two :) 

Clothing Ideas for Spring

Stumped on what to wear for your session this spring?

 

I've learned there is really only ONE place that can never fail me with ideas... and its google. You could probably find a ton of pins from Pinterest with the same ideas, but google usually has a direct link to whoever posted the photos and I love that because about 90% of them are photographers! Some are in different parts of the country where they actually get snow, but almost all of them are dead on for seasonal colors! I wish I were good at putting outfits together, but I just discovered a website called Polyvore that actually DOES that for you! So you can see how awesome certain colors go together before buying!

 

 

HERE are some ideas for Spring, and trust me when I say that there are TONS to choose from! As always, feel free to send a photo of your clothes laid out on the bed to your photographer. Include everyone's in the same frame so they can get an idea of how to guide from there :)

Donn Family & Kenny turns 4 months old. And I still love him.

When your best friend is a photographer, and she lives pretty close to you, that means you get... pictures.... taken.... a lot.

A while back we attempted to take family pictures and snap a few of little Kenny for his 3 months session, until he fell asleep, and cried, and hated me. So we rescheduled and got to spend some girl time together! Here's a preview of both of those sessions!

Easton turns 6 months old!

Little Easton is the first to be showcasing my new logo, and surely he does a good job! He really was the cutest cupid (almost a mouthful there!) I have ever worked with, and was such a joy to see since only 6 short months ago he was a newborn. Time flies when you're cute! :)

Hannah & Tanner [Post] Birth

My wonderfully amazing best friend of over 8 years had the sweetest little angel boy and I got to help capture the moments after he came. I was thankful for this time because it reminds me of the beauty that comes from having a child, something I have long forgotten and fear. Such a glorious time! Congrats guys! So happy for you :)

Edits vs Natural Part 2

Know the difference! These are some of my more recent pictures. I quit trying to be like others, who had horrible editing styles, and did what was pleasing to my eye. I can now say I LOVE MY JOBS! I love being a mommy, a wife, a primary teacher, a doTERRA consultant, a nanny and a photographer. I love it all.... In different ways.. Evolving every day.
